ASERL Exhibit
Submitted by rhia on Wed, 11/06/2019 - 09:58The Association of Southeastern Research Libraries (ASERL) launched an online exhibit, Enslaved People in the Southeast, to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first Africans sold into bondage in the English Colonies.
Child Care Center at FIU
Submitted by rhia on Thu, 10/31/2019 - 16:19On September 1975, the Child Care Center at Florida International University opened after 2 years filled with surveys, studies, and discussions which stemmed from a community Child Care Planning Conference. The Child Care Center, housed in a trailer on the west side of campus beside the tennis courts, served 45 students ages 2 1/2 to 5 from the FIU and surrounding community. The history of the Child Care Center can be found in the University Archives in press releases, memos, annual reports and FIU student newspaper articles.
