SPEAK UP

In light of the global reckoning of racial injustice, sparked by the horrific acts caught on camera of crimes perpetuated against Black people, FIU is speaking up in an effort to change racial inequality and injustice in our community. As the University is committed to enhance equality, dignity, inclusion, and belonging for all, the Special Collections and University Archives invites FIU students, faculty, and staff to submit written (spoken word, poetry, essay, letters, etc.), visual (paintings, sculpture, drawing, photography, etc.), and musical pieces to be displayed in an online exhibition, SPEAK UP

The online exhibition, SPEAK UP, provides a safe space, the Gallery at Green Library-ONLINE, for the FIU community to speak about racial injustice and inequality and to aid in progression toward the goal of racial equity and social justice reform. Submitted artwork will be displayed online as a means of expression with the hope of providing a forum to engage, heal, convey ideas, inspire, and advance understanding and reform. Submissions will then be selected for a gallery exhibit to be shown at the Gallery at Green Library in Spring 2021.
