Cuban Movie Posters

The Cuban Movie Posters exhibition is on display February and early March 2026 on the second floor of the Steven and Dorothea Green Library.

The exhibition brings together limited-edition, hand-screen-printed Cuban movie posters that reinterpret iconic American and Canadian films with a special focus on slasher and science fiction genres. The works were created for two Havana exhibitions: VIENEN 13, which opened on a Friday the 13th in October 2023, and MÁS ALLÁ DEL CARTEL shown during October 2024. All posters were produced in limited editions in Cuba and are presented here from the collection of Bill Brubaker, founder of CubanPosterGallery.com.

In addition to the posters, the exhibition is accompanied by a curated selection of books and posters from FIU Libraries Special Collections, providing visitors with additional historical and cultural context surrounding the works on display.
