Rose Nicholson, Compliance Coordinator and Records Management Liaison Officer

 

Rose manages the records management program for Florida International University. As the Records Management Liaison Officer, Rose serves as the point of contact between the university and the Florida Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services for records management.  In this capacity, she advises the university personnel on records retention and disposition requirements, promotes best practices of records management, and administer regular training sessions on records management to ensure the proper disposition of eligible records are followed in compliance with the state of Florida's Public Records Law.  Through the records management program, Rose works closely with the University Archives to facilitate the transactional process of acquiring archival records from the various departments of the University.

Prior to joining the Special Collections and University Archives team, Rose Nicholson worked with the Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC) as Program Coordinator. Rose completed her Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and French with a certificate in Latin American and Caribbean Studies at FIU in 2013 and in 2017, she completed a Master’s degree in International Disaster Management. She has completed many records management courses from the US National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).  She brings many years of experience in records administration and management.
